It’s Not the Worst Thing If You Two Go to Bed Angry

Just don’t wake up with the intention to stay angry.

One of the main pieces of advice newlyweds receive from friends and family is to “Never go to bed angry.”

I understand the reasoning behind that, but let’s be real, the odds of you never going to sleep upset with your partner are pretty slim. You’re two different people. You won’t see eye to eye on everything.

That’s not me taking a pessimistic attitude towards marriage or relationships, but you are bound to have disagreements at some point. Sometimes these arguments stew into the night and they aren’t always able to be hashed out before it’s time to go to bed.

It’s not the wisest decision to stay up all night trying to make up.

In fact, sometimes it’s better to sleep on it, especially if both of you are too emotional to have a mature conversation about what’s wrong.

Instead of just taking a deep breath, counting to ten, or stepping out for some fresh air, try resting both your mind and body.

Sleep can be beneficial when you’re angry and can lead to you making up with each other in the morning.
