Why You Need to Cut Negative People Out of Your Life
Toxic people only bring toxic energy.
Life is too short to be around negative people because they only think negative thoughts.
We are what we think about. Our current circumstances are the result of our thoughts and actions. Our actions are powered by our thoughts.
If you’re in a negative space, it’s probably because your mind has been in a negative space for awhile. Being around people who only perpetuate those thoughts will keep you from moving into better circumstances.
We all know someone who always brings the energy down in the room with their constant complaining and incessant gossiping.
They only want to talk about what’s wrong in their lives and never want to listen to any solutions. They refuse to focus on the positives and they want to keep everyone around them down as well.
Whether you have a negative family member, roommate or friend, it’s important for your own well-being to distance yourself from this person if they have no intention of changing their behavior.
If you know someone who’s constantly shooting down your dreams or giving you all the reasons why you can’t do something, then they are toxic. They have no place in your life if they can’t uplift you and be a positive source of energy.
They are stuck with a crab mentality and they are only trying to keep you down with them. When a bunch of crabs are caught and placed in a bucket, the ones at the top try to climb out to save themselves. Meanwhile, the crabs at the bottom keep grabbing the top crabs to keep them in the bucket. If they can’t get out, then nobody gets out.
If your social circle reminds you of a bucket of crabs, then it’s time to get out as soon as possible. Surround yourself with people who share your goals and aspirations. Reach out to people who are where you want to be.
Leave your negative friends and family members where they are. You can’t bring everyone along on your journey of self-improvement.
If they want to wallow in self-pity while refusing to do anything to change their circumstances, that’s their choice. Leave them to it.
Being around negative energy only brings you down. It can be easy to get stuck in talking about your problems and spreading rumors about other people.
Misery loves company. Being angry and upset is so much better when you’re not alone. Try not to settle in that.
Don’t get caught in the quicksand of toxic behavior because it will only darken your mindset and make it harder to stay positive.
If you want to improve your life and continue to level up, then you need to get rid of the negative people.
You can have anchors in your life or you can have motors. Inspiring people are the motors who will keep you moving forward and upward. Toxic people are the anchors who will weigh you down and keep you exactly where you are.
To be the best version of yourself and reach your potential, you need to choose the motors. Hopefully, your own self-improvement will inspire the negative people in your life to be better and change their negative attitudes.
Positivity creates more positivity. Choose to spread love and light and you’ll more than likely encourage others to do the same.
